Robert F. Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, and John F. Kennedy at the President’s 45th birthday party

Unclad Body of Star Found Near Empty Capsule Bottle, a (slightly) smaller headline read.

But thats not the only conspiracy theory out there.

Monroes FBI file has been public for 10 years, and the conspiracy theories havent slowed down.

Below, read about Monroes relationships with both Kennedy brothers, and the various conspiracy theories about her death.

How did Marilyn Monroes political views inform her ties to the Kennedys?

Marilyn Monroe was born on June 1, 1926.

(She also spent time in the Los Angeles Orphans Home.)

Her left-wing views would also draw her to John F. Kennedy and his brother, Robert.

Monroe wasnt merely a hanger-on to Millers staunch political beliefs.

Shealso supportedFidel Castro and the Civil Rights movement.

The file, which was re-issued in 2012, sheds light ons the last seven years of her life.

She even visited him in exile in Mexico in 1962.

When you put it all together, [her political side] is pretty substantial, Banner toldTime.

But the political involvements are no less real.

What was her relationship with John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy?

Equally real, if considerably more hazy, were Monroes ties to the Kennedy family.

Still, theres plenty of gossip history to be unearthed.

He will transform America today like FDR did in the 30s.

I guess I dont have the courage to face up to it and hurt him.

I want someone else to tell him its over.

She even went so far as to claim that Monroe had become pregnant by Kennedy and had an abortion.

All of this is salacious, but its no more reliable than Miners phantom tapes.

Much more substantial is the only time Monroe and the Kennedys appeared in public together.

They allconvened at Madison Square Gardenon May 19, 1962, for the presidents 45thbirthday party.

Monroes sultry rendition of Happy Birthday became immediately infamous.

She said, Dont bother me, leave me alone, stay out of my life.

A very violent argument.

Other reports paint a less emotionally volatile portrait of Monroes relationship with the Kennedys.

This informant would have had their own political agenda, and was not named.

Otash, for instance, onlyclaimshe was investigating Monroe at the time, without offering more substantial proof.

What are the conspiracy theories around her death, and are any of them true?

The conspiracy theoriesbegan flying thick and fastsoon after Monroes death.

(He also claimed that Monroe, Miller, andMonroes doctors were communists.)

The FBI quickly began investigating, although nothing came of the investigation.

Other theories have proliferated in the decades since.

None of these theories including Summers hold water.

Monroe was not killed to protect Jimmy Hoffa or aliens.

(Politifactreportsthat there is no evidence supporting the conspiracy theories surrounding her death.)

And if she did have a relationship with Bobby Kennedy, that relationship didnt kill her.

It shouldnt be hard to understand what happened to Marilyn Monroe.

But its sometimes easier to imagine an extraordinary explanation for a tragic event than to reckon with the truth.
