Celebrity
I didnt really like the story.
Though 1990sPretty WomanlaunchedJulia Roberts into superstardom, another famous redhead almost snagged the part.
Even then, I felt like there was something icky about it.
I dont specifically remember turning it down.
The script was okay but I gotta say, Julia Roberts is what makes that movie.
It was her part.
Every actor hopes for a part that lets them shine like that.
There wasno happily ever afterfor Vivian and Edward, either.
Disney later bought the film rights, and new director Garry Marshall agreed to meet with Roberts.
And they changed the whole thing.
And it became more something that is in my wheelhouse.
Even now, Roberts isnt sure she could have pulled off the original script.
I couldnt do it then.
I couldnt do it now, she told Arquette.
Thank God it fell apart.
Even inPretty Woman, if I had to be in a slip, Id be covered in hives.
